The Volks Ski Fest encourages skiing on public trails in Cook County, Minnesota. These trails require a MN Ski Pass. You can purchase an MN Ski Pass online by going to the Department of Natural Resources website.
The following ski trails require a MN Ski Pass: Sugarbush Trails, Cascade River trails, Cascade State Park Trails, Bally Creek Trails, Pinchushion Mountain Trails.
The trails on the Gunflint (Central Gunflint, Banadad and Upper Gunflint) require a pass from one of the adjoining lodges which maintain them. Information about these passes is located at the trailheads. Maps and other information.
